The wearable, first of Seattle, would have integrated the company’s digital assistant, Alexa.

Amazon does not come to dominate the e – commerce sector. Or the cloud with AWS. Or plantarle face to Apple, Google and other great with Alexa, his own virtual assistant, or his smart Echo speakers. Not to make the food chains of the United States tremble after the acquisition of Whole Foods, a feeling no doubt expanded after the bankruptcy of Toys’r’us toy chain.

According to information from the Financial Times , Amazon also wants to enter the wearable sector , for which it prepares smart glasses . Citing sources familiar with the plans of the company, the newspaper explains that this device would be like a normal glasses, in the style of Snap Spectacles.

In the case of Amazon, its functions would be different, since it would integrate the virtual assistant of the company, Alexa, that could be activated in any situation. The glasses would use a bone conducting audio system , Reuters collects , which would allow the user to listen to the wizard’s directions without using headphones.

The smart glasses was called to be a business vector dominated by Alphabet through its Google Glass , but the company decided to paralyze the project for several months. They have recently decided to take it back with the release of a version aimed at business customers.

For its part Amazon is betting to integrate Alexa in an increasing range of its devices and with different functionalities. The most recent announcement was the addition of the hands-free virtual assistant on its Fire HD 10 tablet.
