It has returned to number one after distributing almost 4 million smartwatches during the third quarter, more than Xiaomi and Fitbit.

During the third quarter of 2017 , Apple has managed to regain the leadership that it had lost in the market of wearables that are thought to be worn on the wrist. 

According to data provided by the consultancy Canalys, the Cupertino firm managed to distribute 3.9 million wearables of this type between July and September. In this has had to see release of Apple Watch Series 3, although its availability was limited and that still has room for improvement.

The top 3 is completed by Xiaomi and Fitbit . Xiaomi has placed 3.6 million units and Fitbit has remained at 3.5 million wearables for the wrist, which both cases represent a sequential improvement.

Of course, in general, this segment of wearables has shrunk by 2% to 17.3 million devices. While shipments of smartwatches grew, those of basic wristbands did not accompany. The top 5 is closed by Huawei and Samsung.

For the fourth quarter, in which the smartwatches that are being marketed and that arrive for Christmas present advances in the monitoring of health, greater autonomy and thinner designs, Canalys expects greater strength.
