If there was any doubt about the direction in which Apple is taking its AI tools, the first thing is the mobile: Siri and the iPhone seem to be at the center of everything.
Apple relies on a mobile framework that will allow developers to create applications that will enhance the artificial intelligence experience. Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams has said the company’s mobile phone line is an important platform for artificial intelligence.
Apple’s AI vision has been revealed at the 30th anniversary celebration of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) in Taipei, prior to the launch of the iPhone X later this week. TSMC is one of the leading manufacturers of Apple chips (its latest A11 chips incorporate “neural motors”).
According to Reuters, Williams has revealed at the event that Apple has decided to give TSMC 100% of its new chips to make the iPhone and iPad. It is rare for Apple to use a single vendor in case production problems arise.
If there was any doubt about the direction in which Apple is taking its AI tools, the first thing is the mobile. Siri and the iPhone seem to be at the center of everything.
“We think the frames we have, the ‘neural motors’ we put on the phone, on the clock … we see it as a big part of the future. We believe these frameworks will allow developers to create more and more applications in this space, so we believe the phone is an important platform, “Williams told attendees at the event.
Williams has stressed that the IA will bring significant changes to various industries, such as healthcare, echoing Apple’s forecasts.
