The BlaBlaLines functionality has reached the entire region of Ile-de-France, where the French capital is.
Just over four months ago, the French company BlaBlaCar launched a new service, called BlaBlaLines , which specializes in short-haul transports. Then the mobility startup tested the tool in the localities of Reims and Châlons-en-Champagne and Toulouse and Montauban.
This pilot project served the company to adapt the service according to the needs of travelers, registering on average 2,000 short journeys back and forth each week between the first two locations and 5,000 between those located in the south of the country.
Now, after the success of these initial tests, the company has decided to expand BlaBlaLines betting on a much more important market, in a movement destined to strengthen the tool. BlaBlaCar has launched the short-distance carpooling service throughout the Ile-de-France region , which is home to the French capital, Paris .
To help expand this service, focusing especially on daily commuting from home to work, the company will reward drivers with a € 10 fuel bonus for their first car-sharing trip.
BlaBlaCar has also extended the availability of its new application, developing its version for mobile with iOS operating system, since until now only worked on devices with Android.
The application has the backing of the City of Paris. According to the Mayor of the city, Anne Hidalgo, and collects the company, BlaBlaLines ” fits perfectly in the mobility policy of the city , which allows to reduce congestion, improve daily mobility options in Paris, as well as to tackle pollution and their efects”.
For its part, the president and founder of the company, Frédéric Mazzella, highlights short-distance carpooling as “a long-term sustainable solution for cities”.
