Samsung highlights that “they are the only mobile devices included in the Security Products Catalog of Information and Communication Technologies” in Spain.
Two of the Samsung phones have achieved a milestone in Spain: to be qualified by the National Cryptological Center or CCN that is attached to the National Intelligence Center.
The models that have obtained the qualification are the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 + .
The CCN verified that its functionalities include the Fundamental Security Requirementsof the CCN-STIC 140. In this way, they would be able to handle information in those systems that are considered high-level according to the National Security Framework.
Here would enter issues such as confidentiality, availability, integrity, traceability or authenticity.
“The products qualified by the CCN offer proven and adequate security guarantees to serve public sector organizations (such as the General State Administration, Autonomous Community Administrations or local Administration entities), citizens who are related to Administrations public and private entities that provide services to the public sector and, therefore, are also subject to the National Security Scheme, in order to offer adequate protection of information “, detailed Samsung.
Samsung thus becomes the first mobile company that has this official security qualification in our country. The company itself emphasizes that its smartphones “are the only mobile devices included in the Security Products Catalog of Information and Communication Technologies” .
The CCN has published a guide with the recommended configuration for the safe use of the devices.
