According to data from a GSMA report, in the second quarter of 2017 the mobile industry had 5 billion mobile subscribers globally unique .
The outlook for the future is also excellent, as it is expected that by 2020, 75% of the global population will be connected to a mobile phone .
In addition, the study shows that new smartphone users will be equivalent to 66% of new global connections by 2020, up from 53% in Q2 2017.
On the other hand, the biggest growth in new subscriptions to mobile services will come hand in hand with the developed countries.
