The company has announced that its Trend Micro IoT Security solution offers support for Mentor Automotive ConnectedOS.

At Trend Micro they are aware that connected cars are becoming smarter and they increase their security requirements , and they want to help protect the systems of those vehicles.

That’s why they just revealed that their Trend Micro IoT Security solution is compatible with Mentor Automotive ConnectedOS , an operating system developed by a Siemens subsidiary.

Mentor Automotive ConnectedOS is present in many vehicle infotainment systems (IVI)and driver information systems (Cluster) for a variety of car manufacturers.

Eva Chen, co-founder and CEO of Trend Micro, explains that ” IoT devices pose immense challenges for all industries , as they open up new areas of attack to criminals,” adding that “effective IoT security must be implemented in all the levels, on the device, as well as on the network and the server. ”

Trend Micro IoT Security offers a security solution oriented to IoT devices that connect outside the vehicle with IP communications in general purpose operating systems.

The goal is to achieve greater overall security for the connected car, as it provides risk detection, risk identification using anomaly detection , verification of file integrity, vulnerability detection, system protection, access control, intrusion detection , virtual patches, visibility of security, security control panel and management console.
